Here at La Vie Douce, we aim to satisfy the palettes of all types of pastry lovers. Whether it is a traditional or a unique French-style pastry or Asian fusion sweets, there is a piece of sweet heaven for everyone. All sweets are made by hand from scratch using only the finest ingredients, some are imported, and whenever possible they are organic and sustainable. Always striving to produce only high-quality pastries, every detail is carefully handcrafted, and guaranteed to be made with no additives or preservatives.
Our Story
Established in 2010.
Venus or Vi is how everyone come to know the owner/chef/cake designer as. Vi comes from a background of fashion design and merchandising. While at art school she was introduced to some of the most beautiful pastries/desserts through her schoolmates, whom would bring them back as souvenirs when they return from Asia and Europe from school breaks. That was how she comes to know about macarons, financiers, breton and the like. She was so fascinated with the taste and beauty of these pastries that she took up writing a dessert blog, L'Atelier Vi, striving to recreate them in her own kitchen, although at the time she doesn’t even know the difference between all-purpose flour to pastry flour. With passion, she self-taught to make those perfect macarons, mousse cakes and everything in between. She continues to do so after art school and after she took a job with corporate America. With turn of events, and trust of a friend, Vi did her very first dessert table for a wedding and everything was history.
